Avahere = Ava + here
Local help, available right here. The name sounds like a friendly neighbor (“ask Ava”) and says where the help comes from: your own town.
We’re starting on Long Island with Nassau County, NY. Local businesses across the county already have a page on Avahere: the plumber down the street, the corner bakery, the groomer your neighbor swears by. Residents can find them by town and category, or describe a job once and hear back from local businesses that want the work. Business owners can claim their page for free and run it end to end.
There are no lead fees on either side. We just connect you.

Why plum and gold?
The beach plum grows wild on Long Island’s dunes. It’s native, hardy, and as local as it gets, so Beach Plum is our main color. Dune Gold is the late-afternoon sun on the sand. Our mark, the “here-drop”, reads three ways: a lowercase a, a speech bubble, and a map pin turned toward you. The gold dot in the middle is the “you are here” dot.
What we believe
Right here
Local first, always. We name towns, not “your area”. Nassau County today, more of Long Island later.
Free, for real
Free for customers and for businesses. No lead fees, no commission, no contracts, and no fine print that says otherwise.
Look your best
Every business deserves a page that looks good and works on a phone, whether or not it has a website.
Honest by design
No fake reviews, counts, ratings, badges or testimonials. We show empty states truthfully and protect owners’ private contact details.
Where our listings come from
Unclaimed pages are built from public business records: the business name, category, town and website, plus a street address and main phone only for non-residential locations. We never show owner names or private contact details on public pages. Owners can claim their page to change what it shows, and anyone can ask us to remove a listing or stop messages from us.
